Shower Anyone?

Post navigation

I showered today.

Nothing new. Excecpt that the shower is a special place. Your hands are busy, scrubbing and shaving legs and washing hair but you’ve been showering so long (I hope) it’s something you can do by rote.

So I’m showering and I’m thinking about my characters. I spent a lot of time with pen and paper yesterday and worked out a lot of backstory. Then today I realized I had to write flashbacks LOL. I figured out a way to fix my opening but something about the whole first 30 or so pages was bugging me.

They’re out of order.

Showers are for more than scrubbin’ ๐Ÿ˜†

  1. A little late from me, but congrats on the contest win! And yes, I think in the shower, too. It’s wonderful for thinking things out. (In my house, with two boys, it’s about the only place they don’t follow wanting something, LOL).

  2. Too true, too true…I am always brainstorming during my showers! Of course, my showers usually last a good 30-35 minutes, so I guess that’s a good thing! ๐Ÿ˜›

    No comment. ๐Ÿ˜€

    LOL Kidding!!

I agree… Showers, and that time just before you drift off to sleep are when the best ideas hit.

  4. I get my best ideas in the shower! I actually had an entire complete scene come to me while I lathered, rinsed and repeated.

    And I’m LOL at Sasha’s comment. ๐Ÿ˜†

  5. So, you’re telling me to go take a shower?

    Well, really! LOL!

Actually, I find I have scenes and ideas come to me just after I wake up. Sometimes they wake me up.

  6. Silma…you found one that’s waterproof? Can I ask what kind it is? LOL Not for me…
    Kel…mine are too ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Sasha….indubidably on the shower ๐Ÿ˜€
Lynn LOL@lather rinse repeat but I do it too while I’m standing tehre, trying to wake up.
Carol! thanks for stopping by! I have to work HARD to go to sleep so scenes dont usually wake me up but they do sometimes keep me awake :undecided:)

  7. No Cece. I’ve not found a tape recorder that’s water proof – yet. *lol* But I put my voice-activated tape recorder next to the toilet, which is close to the shower. So there I am, like a complete psycho, talking, dramatizing the scenes while the tape recorder captures everything. *grins*
