Vicki Pettersson F*cking RAWKS!

Post navigation

Ok so I”m over at SFC today talking about 10 things I’d like to do before I’m 40. Stop by, weigh in if you feel like it!

Now for a book review…and ya’ll know I write such WONDERFUL reviews *blush*

I’ve been working on Vicki Pettersson’s The Scent of Shadows for about two weeks–it’s a BIG book weighing in at about 450 pages. Yes, yes I’m behind, hell the second book is out already, but I gotta tell ya’ll I LOVED this book! And no I don’t know Vicki, so I’m not a friend just squeeing on her behalf to get you to pick it up….I think this is one of those books Jordan recommended a while back.

If you like stuff like X-men and Spiderman, Painkiller Jane and The Dresden Files, check it out. A warning though for those of you looking for an HEA this is NOT the book for you. Actually the romance aspect of it is sad (and poignant–I felt so sorry for Ben!). However if you can dig a happy ending where the bad guys get beat and the heroine lives to fight another day, you should totally check this out!

  1. I’ve got her on my wish list and can’t wait to begin reading it. BTW, tonights the night for a hero right? die:

  2. I hope you like the book as much as I do!

YES HEROES! I left a teeny tiny reminder on your blog :woot:

  3. Syb….I hope she likes it as much as I did. I’m such slut for action movies that this was a blast for me to read :yippee:

  4. If you go through all the tucks, tattoos, and piercings you have listed in your ten things, you’ll be able to claim a new nickname too: Painkiller Jane. šŸ™‚

  5. I know you don’t do much historical… but you will love The Seperent Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt comes out September 2007(I think you will att least) ;).

And you should give Wired by Liz Maverick a look see. Apart of the new Shomi line. Comes out July3.

  6. I bought both of the Zodiac books and read them yesterday. I neglected just about everything and zoned in to the Petterson world. I loved it. When I finished book one I had to start book two. So now I’m left wondering how long I’ve got to wait until reading book 3. I’m going to write up reviews for them this week.
