First off, GO VOTE IRON KISSED!

ThanksNLoveU!

Second…over at SFC today talking Writing what you Know.

Ok sooooooooooo I went to the DARA conference this last weekend with Jen who was a super roomie!

I got to meet Arkansas Cyndi and her sidekick Shada Royce (who apparently hasn’t blogged in a while!). They. Were. Hysterical! We had the best time in the bar Friday night.  And I think I might want to relocate to Arkansas to be closer to the both of them (and Mel Francis!!!) becuase you know what? I think all the really cool peeeps live in Arkansas. That’s right….we were lied to. *sigh*

Also met up with like half of Agent Holly’s romance clients! A shout out to Diana Cosby, Misa Ramirez, Jill Myles, Addison Fox, Virna (whose last name has escaped me!). I even got to sit next to Misa during the book signing. Also ran into the uber-cool Tarcy Wolff who was under deadline so sadly, we didn’t really get to chat much 🙁 AND got to meet Mark Henry and Jaye Wells (more cool kids!!) who did a fab workshop on worldbuilding (and assured us vamps are alive and selling well!), as well as Rocki St. Clair who gave the funniest breakfast speach. And a shout out with thanks to Naughty Nikki who came to the book signing! She’s got the cutest hubby! (NOTE: Do NOT google Naughty Nikki)

Had a lovely dinner at Blue Mesa with Holly and friends (Mmmm sweet potatoes!) and then came home, cleaned up after the dogs and collapsed. I spent pretty much all day yesterday in bed, rousing long enough to shower and slap a face on to go fetch dinner for the boys.

Books picked up at Friday’s book signing:

HIS WOMAN by Diana Crosby

LIVING THE VIDA LOLA by Misa Ramirez

RUBY SLIPPERS by Leanna Ellis (Actually started reading this one Sunday morning and WOW! I’m loving it)

REDHEADED STEPCHILD by Jaye Wells

HAPPY HOUR OF THE DAMNED by Mark Henry

  1. I had way more fun than should be allowed at an author conference, especially for a lowly editor. I’d have bowed down and kissed Bob Mayer’s feet if I didn’t think it’d get me arrested.

Cyndi and Shada were so much fun.

Holly, Diana, Misa, and the other girls…wow, that was the coolest dinner ever, and super educational.

Too bad the DARA conference only happens once a year and isn’t longer. 🙁

  2. Did Dreamin’ seems a mini-national conference to you? Great bar activity. Cool kids hangin’ out together. Too much information to absorb. Too much booze. Too little sleep.

It was INCREDIBLE meeting you and Jennifer.

AND YES, MOVE TO ARKANSAS! Mel and I are working on Kate Pearce to move here!

Can’t wait until we can arrange to meet again, but this time, we’ll leave those 2-timing hussies (that’d be Jennifer and Shada) at home! LOL
