First Real Post of the New Year

Post navigation

Yeah, that took a while! LOL
First, hearing good and bad about Book of Eli. Thoughts? And Legion…please God don’t let it suck when it comes out. Going to try and drag one of the boychildren to see Daybreakers tomorrow since it’s a holiday.

Now stealing this from Tanya at SFC:
I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO READING: Lawd…go here to see my list (if you somehow missed it)

I WANT TO RE-WATCH:
STAR TREK! And all the other action/sci-fi movies we got for Christmas. Yeah such a nerd! LOL

I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING: new music from Glee! Sue me! I LOVE music–almost as much as books

I WANT TO EAT: Lot’s of salad and sea food–agreeing with Tanya here. I want more sushi!

PREDICTIONS: Like Tanya I think print newspapers will continue to go the way of the dodo. Ebooks may thrive but I think there will continue to be a LOT of upheaval in the industry (probably for the next couple of years) before things settle down. And my ass, too, will continue to spread.

I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING:Sherlock Holmes, The Legend of Eli, Legion and The Wolfman. Oh and Percy Jackson and the Olympians! WOOT! and the remake of CLASH OF THE TITANS!

I’M ALREADY SICK OF: Lovely Bones commercials. Enough already!

THIS YEAR I’D LIKE TO: Um I see lots of rewrites in my future this year. Currently reworking an old manuscript and probably going to rework a couple of others. As goals go, I’d love to get a couple more free shorts done/up but I think I’m going to abstain from any hard and fast goals this year.
What about you?

  1. reading: PBW, Jim Butcher, Lois Bujold, Lori Armstrong. So many anticipated reads ahead!

rewatch: er, first I need time to watch. Working on that.

playing: well, myspace imported my book playlists from Imeem. Sort of. So I have that again.

eating: local. We’ll be growing a garden, buying local meat, eggs, etc.

predictions: agree on the upheaval. Sigh. I may scale back and take some time off while things heave around. Except I worry that if I do this, it’ll become permanent.

me too on the movies. So! Many! Good ones! Mostly I have to wait for ’em on DVD, though.

sick of: the health care debate. Special interests win, everybody else is losing, get it over with already.

I’d like to: go camping, boating, hiking, stay at the Grand Hotel, swing in a hammock, laze in a porch swing, grow a garden. Oh, work wise? Finish some more books.

  2. Charli for what it’s worth, I think you’re in good shape being at Samhain. I see/think there will be more upheaval for NY pubbed books than places like Samhain, LooseID etc. Though the question still remains why books outside of romance/erotic romance etc dont *SEEM* to be doing as well as ebooks (outside of very popular NY pubbed books ie King etc?)

  3. I sold 6 new titles to Samhain for a reason. And I’ll have 3 back to back release months with Carina this summer. I don’t plan to abandon NY, but I do think it’s a bad time not to diversify.

  4. I forgot about Legion! I want to see that too. My son is really looking forward to seeing the Lightning Thief. He read the first book and is in the process of reading the second.

  5. Tanya….my son has read ALL Those lightening thief books–probably more than once! So it’s been HIGHLY ANTICIPATED at our house since we saw the first trailers way back in JUNE! :thumb:
